1. Vacuum the pool to remove the algae that accumulated in the pool walls and bottoms. Remove as much algae as you can then brush them off using a long pool brush.

2. Buy a pool chlorine shock solution and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for its usage.

3. Mix a bucket of water with chlorine shock solution. It is advisable to add 1 pound of the solution for every 10, 000 gallons of water.

4. Turn on the pool filter and add the chlorine shock solution to the pool. Let the pool filter run for 24 hours. Check the pool from time to time. If you see no improvement in the water, increase the dosage of the solution to be added in the water.

1. Pool Liner Type

It is necessary to determine what type of pool liner is needed in your pool. Pool liner has two type, the beaded pool liner and the overlap pool liner. The beaded pool liner is characterized by its small groove or lip at the top edge of the liner. The small groove or lip is snapped into a track around the inside of the swimming pool at the top of the pool wall. This is done to hold the pool liner in place. If your pool needs a beaded pool liner, you can determine it by checking a track under the top rail inside the above ground pool.

Overlap pool liner, on the other hand, is folded over the wall of the pool and is held in place underneath the top rail of the above ground pool. You can determine if your pool needs overlap liner when you see you see a small part of the liner outside the top rail of the pool.

Pool heater is a device that works by increasing the temperature of the water and keeping it warm throughout the swimming time. Check out the steps below on how to install a pool heater in your pool:

1.    Determine the size of the pool heater to be used by calculating the surface area of the swimming pool. Usually, a 120,000 BTU pool heater is required for a 500 square feet pool.

2.    Clean the pool water using a pool vacuum. You also need to check the pH level of the water because it has to be balanced before the installation of pool heater.

3.    Clean the pool filter and skimmer by removing all the dirt and debris accumulated in the surface of these devices.

4.    Position the pool heater on ground level two to five feet away from the turned-off pool filter. Attach a 1 ¼ inch PVC pipe from the filter return valve to the inlet valve of the heater. Attach another PVC pipe from the outlet valve of the heater to the return valve in the pool. Make sure that the parts are securely attached and intact.

5.    Check for any leaks in PVC pipes installed by turning on the pool filter. If there are no found leaks, set the heater thermostat to the desired temperature.
